Basket Random

Every Court Condition, Ball Type, and Player Mod in Basket Random

Published · 2 min read

The brilliance of Basket Random lies in its round-by-round procedural mutations. A strategy that works on a standard hardwood floor will lead to disaster on an icy rooftop. Understanding each modifier gives you an immediate competitive advantage the moment the whistle blows.

Court Variations

Standard Hardwood Court

The baseline condition. High friction, predictable bounce, and standard player weight. Use standard jumping rhythms and aggressive fast-break dunks.

Snowy & Icy Rooftop

Floor friction drops by nearly 80%. Ragdolls slide uncontrollably whenever they touch the surface. Trying to make quick direction changes will cause your players to split their legs and flop. The winning tactic is sliding defense: position your players in the center and let oncoming balls slide directly into your feet.

Moving & Shrinking Hoops

In some rounds, the basketball hoops slide up and down or shrink to half their standard circumference. For shrinking hoops, avoid launching long-range arcing shots. Instead, carry the ball directly over the cylinder and let it drop vertically through the net.

Player Modifiers

Long Arms vs Short Arms

Long Arms: Extends your reach across nearly a third of the court. You can steal the ball out of the opponent's grip from across the center circle. However, your arms can also swat the ball backward into your own net if you jump carelessly under your own rim.

Short Arms: Strips your reach down to stubby appendages. You must get chest-to-chest with the ball to control it. Focus entirely on body-blocking and diving dunks.

Big Heads vs Small Heads

Player heads carry significant physics mass. A giant head makes your player top-heavy, increasing forward tumbling speed during jumps. Small heads lower your center of gravity, keeping your ragdoll upright and stable.

Ball Modifiers

Heavy Iron Ball

The dark metallic ball barely bounces and drops like an anchor. Flailing taps will not launch it into the air. You must get your player underneath the ball and jump vertically to heave it upward with full body force.

Light Bouncy Ball

Extremely lightweight and hyper-reactive. Even a gentle tap can launch it rebounding wildly between the floor, ceiling, and walls. Stay patient and guard the rim rather than chasing unpredictable wall rebounds.
